Are you thinking about the purpose to use Industrial pumps and their functionalities?

Then let’ discuss in detail the industrial pumps!

Industrial pumps are used for various purposes in different enterprises across the world. The industrial pumps are usually the heavy-duty pumps that are best to move various items which include water, petroleum, chemicals, wastewater, oil, slurry, sludge, or food. There are multiple
types of pumps available in the market which are specially designed for industrial use.

Such huge numbers of enterprises use water pumps somehow. If they’re not used to supply water for manufacturing procedures, then they’re utilized in treating effluent and wastewater from plants. Local specialists apply strict guidelines to the treatment of effluents from industry to guarantee to protect the environment as well as the wellbeing of the community.

There is a wide scope of Pump Manufacturers and dealers In Navi Mumbai who are well-known to manufacture Kirloskar Pumps and Kirloskar Spare Parts. In any case, getting your water pumps fixed and reconditioned is simple.

Common types of Industrial Water Pumps available in the market :

  • Centrifugal pumps: A pivoting impeller draws water inside the pump, and then centrifugal activity pressurizes the water for release.
  • Positive displacement pumps: One of these conveys a fixed volume of water from gulf to release with each stroke of the pump

Kirloskar pumps are popular among the industries due to their durability and high quality. The Water Pump Dealers In Navi Mumbai lays overwhelming pressure on the quality of the item and guarantees various quality checks with the goal that the clients get simply the best item. You can pick from prevalent classes like Domestic Monoblock Pumps, borewell submersible pumps, and get the top of the line items within their budget.

Functions
Industrial pumps are regularly utilized in the construction business. They are typically found in building locales where there is a need to evacuate overabundance water. These siphons are exceptionally helpful in zones that experience substantial downpours, which may cause flooding and where stale water can make disturbance work. With the assistance of water pumps, the amassed water can be immediately evacuated, so the construction task continues.

Types
Water pumps come in various kinds. They can be classified by how they work. As per Kirloskar Spare Parts Dealers In Navi Mumbai, pumping machines can be manual, electric, pressure-driven, or gas-fueled. Given how they move water, pumps can be ordered as divergent and positive removal pumps. The motive behind the use of all of them is to transfer water from one position to a new one.

Regardless of whether you have purchased pumps from Water Pump Dealers in Navi Mumbai, this is something that you should do. The siphon execution fronts of the creators depend on clear water. The surmised imprint here is 65 F. This is except if the producers have expressed something different. You can be certain that they would not be adjusted for liquid thickness. In any event, when they have begun a pull, it might be remedied for specific gravity and viscosity.

What is Best Efficiency Point and Maximum Flow Point in a Pump?

Ever wondered how your centrifugal pumps performance can be evaluated?

Pump characteristic curves help you do that. Click here to read our article on the 3 kinds of pump characteristic curves!

The shut-off head (click here to know more) is one of the important points on the curve. This article focuses on two other important points on the curve.

The Best Efficiency Point (BEP)

On a pump curve, the BEP is when the pump is at its most efficient. It’s when water pumps deliver the best results at the least amount of noise and vibration produced. Pumps are usually rated on their BEPs and consume power according to what their rating is. Hence, you probably often see it mentioned in their packaging.

The Maximum Flow Point

This is a flow point beyond which your pump will cease to function normally. It will begin to consume excess power and its efficiency will fall significantly. If you notice excessive vibrations and noise being created by your pump, chances are it has reached its Maximum Flow Point.

These variables on the pump characteristic curve help you determine the performance of a pump and accordingly help you opt for the one that best suits your pumping needs.

The 3 Kinds of Pump Curves You Need to Know About

Vijay Engineering And Machinery Company

If you own a pump, you should be able to evaluate your pump’s performance and ensure that it’s ideal for the purpose you installed it for. This is done by plotting points on a graph and drawing a pump characteristic curve. This curve provides insights into the relationship between the total head (i.e. how much kinetic energy a pump can generate) and flow rate.

There are 3 key points on this curve that we often consider (click on them to know more):

  • Shut off head
  • Best Efficiency Point
  • Maximum Flow Point

Another aspect of the curves that we consider is what kind of curves they are:

  • Normal curves: Here, the head is seen to be decreasing at a rapid pace while the flow is seen to be increasing. This curve type is steep and gives you more control, which makes it more sought-after. This is because a small change in flow will result in a sizeable drop in pressure.
  • Flat curves: Here, the head decreases at a very slow pace as the flow increases. This type of curve is ideal for sprinkler systems because here, a significant change in flow is coupled with a small change in head.
  • Drooping curves: In this case, the curve is similar to a normal curve with the exception of the fact that the head rises and then falls as it nears the shut-off head point. This curve type should be avoided.

When it comes to owning water pumps, be it centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps or any other kind of pump, it is essential for you to evaluate the pumps’ characteristic curves. What Does ‘Shut Off Head mean in Centrifugal Pumps?

Centrifugal Pumps with Flow and Head

If you’re recently started learning about centrifugal pumps, you probably aren’t well-acquainted with what the term ‘head’ refers to in this case. So, let’s start with that.

Head is a measure of how much kinetic energy a pump can generate. If a pump’s discharge is directed upwards, the head would refer to the height that the pumped fluid would be able to reach.

Is head the same as pressure?

No. The pressure isn’t used to measure the energy produced by a pump because it is impacted by gravity. Head, on the other hand, remains unaffected by the weight of the fluid when it’s being measured.

So, what does ‘shut off head’ mean?

Shut off head is the maximum head achievable by water pumps and occurs at zero flow. It consumes minimal power at this point. One clear sign of shut off head is when your pump vibrates more than usual and generates way more noise.

It is not recommended to operate your pump at zero flow for an extended period of time

You may be wondering why. This is what would happen if you operate your pumps at zero flow for long periods of time:

  • The friction created by the impeller will generate enough heat to boil the water present in the pump.
  • The heat will cause the mechanical seal to break and the plastic components of the pump will damage or melt.
  • Water is likely to leak into motor windings in residential systems.
  • Finally, as a result of high pressure, the pressure switch will shut the pump down, leading to minimal or no flow.

Does a Liquid’s Viscosity Affect a Pump’s Performance?

What’s viscosity?

In simple terms, viscosity is how thick a liquid is. For instance, water isn’t very viscous, but sludge is. Fluids may also gain/lose viscosity if heat or pressure is applied. Viscosity is measured in units known as Seconds Say bolt Universal (SSU) and is measured using a viscometer.

Choose the right pump depending on fluid viscosity

The consistency of the fluid you want to pump will determine the kind of pumps you’ll need. This is because thicker fluids cause more resistance when energy is applied. That means that pumps used for water may not be suitable for oil.

There are two options you can select from once you’ve evaluated the viscosity of the liquid that needs to be pumped:

  • Centrifugal pumps: These are ideal for relatively less viscous liquids, for instance, water. While these water pumps don’t necessarily stop functioning in fluids that are slightly more viscous, their efficiency may take a hit. This is because a centrifugal motor isn’t designed to operate in thick liquids. A centrifugal pump is ideal for relatively thin liquids that need to be pumped at high speeds.
  • Positive displacement pumps: These pumps are specially designed to work effectively in thicker fluids. These fluids are basically liquids which are over 2000 SSU in viscosity. These pumps would be ideal for oil. A positive displacement pump is also suited for fluids that need to be pumped slowly and gently to keep their properties intact. This could include food pastes, paint, etc. that would become runny and unusable if pumped at high speeds.

Will a Centrifugal Pump Work if it is running backwards?

Vijay Engineering & Machinery Co.

When you think about a pump’s mechanism, one of the first things you’ll imagine is a rotating impeller. It’s an important component of water pumps and it facilitates smooth operation.

But what if you notice your impeller rotating backwards?

Will it stop working? Will it pump water in the opposite direction? No and no.

When a centrifugal pumps impeller rotates in the inverse direction, the flow of fluid through the pump isn’t reversed. However, the pump’s efficiency will drop significantly and you’ll notice that the flow is hindered. So, while it may not bring the pump to a halt, it’ll definitely not continue functioning like it normally would. The impeller design and the angles given to vanes are specific in achieving some crucial hydraulic characteristics which are plotted on the pump performance curve. If at all the pump rotates in reverse direction it will not produce the same curve means all the parameters of pump such as pressure, flow, efficiency and power consumption would be hampered.

Can it harm my pump?

So, we’ve established that backwards-rotating impellers will still work. But can they potentially damage your pumps? That depends.

In some submersible pumps, the impellers may be screwed onto the mechanism, which means they run the risk of getting unscrewed if they rotate in the opposite direction. This can cause significant damage to your pump. In worse cases, if the mechanical seal is breached as a result of damage to the pump, it may even cause injuries.

What can you do to prevent this?

When you’re installing your pump, do a quick test to see if the impeller is rotating in the correct direction before you put it to use. Also, get in touch with our technicians for assistance and maintenance if you ever notice the pump’s flow reducing.

Do Solar Panels give lower output in Winters?

Let us save you the trouble of reading this entire article by clearing this up right away: No, they don’t. Continue reading if you want to know how.

Does my panel continue working on colder days?

Yes, it does. To understand this better, let’s first learn what it is that Solar PV Panels need to absorb. PV here stands for Photovoltaic, where Photo means Light. This means that your PV Panels don’t need heat. They only need sunlight. Here, temperatures don’t matter. In fact, in cases of extremely hot regions, too much heat may adversely impact the panel’s productivity.

What about snow?

A common belief is that snowaccumulates on your solar panels and cuts off sunlight, causing a fall in output. This is a misconception. In fact, most solar panels are installed at an angle, prevents the snow from accumulating on the panels. Your panel can also operate with a thin sheet of snow on it.

Will energy output be affected in any way in winters?

Maybe. During winter, the sun hits the surface of the earth at a lower angle, which may mean lesser light is being captured by your Residential Solar Panel. You may need to adjust the angle of your panels to make the most of the available sunlight. However, this Renewable Energy source will continue powering your homes through winter. Battery Backup also plays a role here. It allows excess energy stored during peak sunlight time to be used when the energy output is slightly lower. Types and Specifications of Different Water Pumps

As water pump dealers would tell you, the water pumps are used in construction sites. People use them for dewatering. This is a process whereby extra water that may have accumulated on the site is removed from over there. There are so many reasons why water can build up in these sites. It could be because of heavy rains. At times, the water table could be high as well. The pumps let you move the water within a short period. This helps in reducing the downtime as well. There are two main types of such pumps.

The types of water pumps

As water pumps distributors would tell you, there are two major variations of water pumps. These are positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps. Both these kinds of pumps are designed in such a way that you can move water to another place from where it is continuously. A centrifugal water pump makes use of a rotating impeller so that it can move the water within the pump. This also allows it to force the discharge flow. A positive displacement water pump delivers a specified amount of flow by way of mechanical shrinking and expansion of a diaphragm that is flexible.

Things to keep in mind for centrifugal water pumps

The centrifugal industrial water pumps are used in a wide range of water system and construction applications. They can do a lot more than mere dewatering. They can be used to pump water supplies of buildings. They can also work with pneumatic systems as well as ones where you do not need to use the suction lift. They are also used for pumping water from domestic wells. They can increase pressure in water intake lines as well. They can provide an uninterrupted pressure source used in the fire protection systems too.

Things to keep in mind for positive displacement water pumps

The positive displacement of Kirloskar water pumps is also referred to as rotary pumps. They are effective. This is because they can remove air from the lines, and this does away with the need to bleed the air as such. They are also extremely handy when it comes to dealing with liquids that have a high amount of viscosity. The main issue with these pumps is that they need a really small clearance between the outer edge of a rotating pump and the pump itself.

Features and specifications of these pumpsAs you would get to know from your water pump dealers, there are several important factors that you must take into consideration at the time of selecting such a pump. In power, you must look at the horsepower and the flow rate. In the material, you must check if it has been built with weather-resistant materials that are useful when it comes to applications where the pump could be exposed to the natural elements. You also need to check the fuel and the motor type over here, and the total head discharge.

Solar Energy: A More Cost-Effective Energy Source Than Fossil Fuel

Solar Energy over Fossil Fuels

Yes, you read it right. Solar energy is all set to become a cheaper source of energy. But Solar energy generation involves a significant capital investment for installation. Wouldn’t that make it more expensive than fossil fuel-generated energy? Not really. Here’s why:

  1. If you’re not willing to incur capital expenditure for installation, you could always opt for an OPEX financial model (click here to know more).
  2. Systems like solar net metering (click here to know more) allow you to sell excess units of power generated in your PV system, which may result in your electricity bill be 0 or lesser! This gives great ROI.
  3. Advances in technology are making Renewable Energy cheaper to use than ever before.
  4. The use of Batteries and Battery Backup ensure that excess energy isn’t lost if there isn’t any immediate demand for it. It makes having a Residential Solar Panel a more sustainable option because if you store extra energy, you won’t have to buy additional units of electricity during nights or cloudy days.
  5. The prices of fossil fuels are significantly high and are dependent on many factors including international relations, politics, etc.Meanwhile, sunlight is universally available, free to use and using it for electricity generation is better for the environment.

These are only the basic factors that explain why solar energy is cheaper than its nonrenewable alternatives. Many other factors also play a role in lowering its prices.
